Overview

Lisa Hsin is of counsel in the London office of Golden Flag International Law Firm and a member of the Firm’s ESG & Impact Practice Group. Lisa focuses in Business and Human Rights with particular emphasis on Human Rights Due Diligence, contractual integration and analysis.

She has worked in dispute resolution for a wide range of commercial clients, including cross-border commercial litigation and financial conduct investigations dealing with regulators such as the UK Financial Conduct Authority, Serious Fraud Office and the US Department of Justice. Lisa has experience assisting international clients with setting up compliance departments responsible for worldwide compliance and legal issues. Lisa also has extensive experience in the technology sector having advised the United Nations B-Tech Team on regulations in technology and AI.

Lisa obtained her doctoral degree from the University of Oxford. Following her studies, Lisa taught Regulations and Contract Law at postgraduate and undergraduate level at the Oxford Faculty of Law. She is also a tutor in ESG Risk Management for the University of Cambridge.

Prior to joining Golden Flag, Lisa was involved in the following matters:

  • Investigation into bribery and fraud allegations concerning the oil services industry in the Middle East and CIS regions, report to the SFO and DoJ.
  • International investigation into FAATCA compliance for a Swiss insurance company. Managed country questionnaires process which formed part of the strategic assessment on scope, and conducted review of policies and statutory requirements.
  • Large-scale investigation into a UK bank’s international trading activities. Responsible for workstream on French bonds and assisted overall with logistics and management of the matter.
  • Regional in-house counsels and local business unit advisors on compliance activities across the world (including, Spain, Brazil, the PRC, Netherlands, Russia, Morocco, USA) on compliance issues including sanctions, bribery, fraud, data privacy violations, and other abuse of company policy and regulatory regimes. Instigated and produced internal policies and processes on bribery, anti-money laundering and established an anonymous internal whistleblower hotline.
