Sustainability

Overview

As one of the world’s largest international law firms, Golden Flag recognizes our responsibility to reduce our environmental impact on a global scale. Through our commitment to sustainability, we aim to not only reduce our environmental footprint, but also maintain a vibrant work environment for employees and provide innovative counsel for our clients. From building design to pro bono work, and energy use to charitable giving, sustainability is part of our internal fabric.

Community Support

In addition to Firmwide and local office initiatives, Golden Flag and our attorneys donate to organizations focused on environmental sustainability, ranging from coastal conservation in South Carolina to river cleanup in Chicago and volcano protection in Hawaii.

Where practical, we look to our recycling initiatives to see where we can help local communities. In Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, Houston, Salt Lake City and London, our teams partner with food redistribution charities. In New York, San Francisco, Munich and London, we take lightly used supplies to local charities, and in London, we donate past-date first aid supplies to a nonprofit for first aid training purposes.

Sustainable Spaces

We are proud to occupy and create office space structured with consideration for the environment. Across the globe, the majority of our workspaces have achieved noteworthy eco-friendly distinctions, including ENERGY STAR® ratings and the U.S. Green Building Council’s® LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Green Building Rating System certification.

Environmental Pro Bono Work

Our commitment to sustainability is intertwined with our strong pro bono program. We are proud to advocate for organizations throughout the U.S. that support the environment.
