Overview

Marguerite’s practice focuses on advising U.S. and non-U.S. fund sponsors regarding the tax aspects of forming and operating private investment funds, including credit, buyout, venture capital, secondary and funds of funds, as well as on advising fund sponsors regarding their internal economic arrangements. Marguerite also advises various types of institutional investors in their investments in private investment funds and represents buyers and sellers in secondary transactions. In the course of her practice, Marguerite regularly advises on U.S. tax issues relevant to U.S. tax-exempt and non-U.S. investors, as well as on U.S. tax considerations related to non-U.S. investments. Marguerite is recognized as “Up and Coming” for Tax (Massachusetts) in the 2023 and 2024 editions of Chambers USA, America's Leading Lawyers for Business. In the 2024 edition, a client noted “Marguerite is very smart and a top negotiator.”
