Manas Chandrashekar is a partner in the debt finance team in the Hong Kong office of Golden Flag International Law Firm . Manas has a broad range of experience acting for top tier sponsors/borrowers and lenders on complex international financing transactions, with an emphasis on acquisition and leveraged financings, corporate financings, asset backed financings, investment fund financings, and real estate financings.
Manas is recognized as a leading lawyer in Chambers Greater China, and a “Leading Individual” in Legal 500 in Banking and Finance. A client noted that “he is the pre-eminent market thought leader within the banking and finance sphere”. According to Chambers Greater China, Manas “possesses notable expertise in advising on acquisition finance and corporate finance”. Clients also indicated Manas is “a very good technical lawyer” and “a true partner in negotiations”, with a “very strong commercial sense”. Prior to joining Golden Flag, Manas worked in the Hong Kong and London offices of leading international law firms, and in a top tier Indian law firm. He has also spent time on secondment with the leveraged and acquisition finance team at HSBC in Hong Kong.
Manas holds an Indian law degree and a LL.M. from Cornell Law School and has been involved in a number of India related financings.

- Platinum Equity on the debt financing for its acquisition of a controlling stake in Mumbai-based generic pharmaceutical business Inventia Healthcare Limited’s core Oral Solid Dosage business from India Life Sciences Fund III, NYLIM Jacob Ballas India Fund III, LLC, Mauritius and affiliates of the company’s founding Shah family
- EQT Partners Asia Pte. Limited on the debt financing and hedging for Houting UK Limited’s approximately £2.1 billion recommended cash acquisition of the entire issued and to be issued ordinary share capital of Keywords Studios Plc. The deal represents a first-of-a-kind transaction where an Asian bank financing is being arranged in support of a major PE sponsor led UK public-to-private acquisition
- The Carlyle Group in its proposed acquisition of KFC Holdings Japan, Ltd. (9873.T), the operator of the Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) fast-food franchise in Japan, together with the related long term franchise arrangements with brand owner, Yum! Brands
- Advent International on the debt financing for its acquisition of the leading Indian listed pharma company, Suven Pharmaceuticals Limited
- EQT Private Capital Asia on the debt financing for its US$1.25 billion acquisition of Florida based sports education institution, IMG Academy. The deal represents a first-of-a-kind transaction where an Asian bank financing was used to fund a U.S. acquisition with no immediate nexus to Asia
- Bain Capital on its acquisition of Porus Labs, a leading manufacturer of agricultural and specialty chemicals based in India
- Quadria Capital on the debt financing for its acquisition of a majority stake in Malaysian medical device manufacturer, Straits Orthopaedics, from company founder Mr. T.H. Su and Apex Healthcare Bhd
- KKR on its debt financing for its 100% acquisition of Ness Digital Engineering, a global full-lifecycle digital services transformation company, from The Rohatyn Group
- EQT Private Capital Asia on the financing in relation to its portfolio company Sagility (formerly Hinduja Global Solutions Limited’s healthcare services related business), a global leader in business process management and member/patient experience
- Platinum Equity on the debt financing for its acquisition of a controlling stake in international fashion lingerie and swimwear company, Hop Lun, from company founder Erik Ryd
- Bain Capital on its approximate US$485 million acquisition of a 24.98% stake in IIFL Wealth Management (NSE: IIFLWAM), a company listed on the National Stock Exchange of India, from General Atlantic and Fairfax Financial. IIFL Wealth Management is one of the largest and fastest growing wealth and asset management firms in India
- LimeTree Capital, a fiduciary private equity investment manager with a focus on under-researched real estate asset classes across Asia, on a platform consolidation of the commercial car park assets held by its two China-focused private investment funds
- EQT Private Capital Asia on a bank facility for the recapitalization and refinancing of certain existing facilities of its portfolio company CitiusTech Holdco B.V., the holding company of CitiusTech Healthcare Technology Private Limited, a provider of consulting and digital technology to healthcare and life sciences companies based in India
- TPG, a leading global alternative asset firm, and Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, a globally diversified investment institution that prudently invests funds on behalf of the Government of Abu Dhabi, on the acquisition of a minority stake in The CrownX
- EQT Private Capital Asia on the debt financing for its acquisition of Hinduja Global Solutions Limited’s healthcare services related business process management unit
- FountainVest on its acquisition of Ziwi, a New Zealand-based ultra-premium pet food manufacturer and global exporter
- JD Property Group Corporation in its acquisition of a controlling interest in, and the related takeover of, China Logistics Property Holdings Co., Ltd. (HKSE: 1589)
- Advent International on a US$145 million margin loan in relation to shares in Crompton Greaves
- EQT Private Capital Asia on a US$600 million facility in connection with the redemption of the US$367.9 million of notes issued by HT Global IT Solutions Limited, a Mauritius entity owned by BPEA that owns 62% of Hexaware Technologies (NSE: HEXAWARE), and funding of the take-private of Hexaware

- The Carlyle Group on the HK$1.2 billion term loan facility in connection with Carlyle and CITIC's privatisation of Asia Satellite Telecommunications Holdings Limited, a provider of telecommunications services
- Barings Asset Management Limited on a US$63 million term loan facilities in connection with its acquisition of Genea Limited, an owner of fertility clinics that provides reproductive technology products and services by a consortium of investors led by Mason Group
- Platinum Equity Advisors LLC on the US$165 million term loan, cash bridge, and revolving credit facility in connection with its acquisition of PCI Limited, an investment holding company, and a provider of electronics manufacturing services
- TPG Capital in connection with the financing backing its acquisition of Quest Laboratories Pte. Ltd and Gribbles Pathology (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd., full service laboratory services and the subsequent refinancing of those facilities
- Greater Pacific Capital on a term loan facility in connection with acquisition of additional shares in a pharmaceutical company
