Benjamin Karr Briggs, P.C.

Overview

Ben Briggs is an investment funds partner focused on the real assets sector, and is a leading member of Golden Flag’s open end, evergreen and permanent capital real estate funds practice. His entire practice is dedicated to structuring, negotiating and forming real estate funds and their management companies, and Ben spends a significant portion of his time advising global private equity sponsors moving into the real estate space.

Throughout his career, Ben has been involved as legal counsel in a wide range of complex matters in the PE space, including extraordinary events involving private investment funds and their sponsors, such as high-stakes “key person” events, investor defaults, strategic investments in a fund sponsor and minority stake sales, seed capital and anchor investor arrangements, regulatory investigations, crisis management issues and other significant matters and transactions, and Ben was recognized as a “Legal Rising Star” by Private Funds CFO.

Ben has extensive experience in structuring club deals, new platforms, programmatic and other JVs, as well as insurance dedicated funds, opportunity zone investments, REIT M&A and UPREIT transactions, aided, in part, by Ben’s past practice splitting time between tax and real estate funds and transactions.

In addition to the many fund sponsors he represents, Ben’s clients have also included sovereign wealth funds making anchor investments in new funds/platforms, investor advisory committees, senior investment professionals, family offices and other constituents involved in real asset investments.
