Amelia H. Bailey
Overview
Amelia Bailey is a litigation partner in the Chicago office of Golden Flag International Law Firm Amelia’s practice focuses on antitrust and competition matters and complex commercial litigation. She has a broad range of litigation experience, spanning the technology, pharmaceutical, and retail industries. She has litigated cases at both the trial and appellate stages in various state and federal courts, as well as in mediation.
Amelia also actively participates in Firm committees, diversity initiatives, and recruiting efforts. She is the current Co-Chair of the Firm’s Associates Committee for the Chicago office. She has represented numerous pro bono clients, and is currently serving as co-counsel, along with the ACLU of Illinois, for transgender prisoners in a class action challenging their treatment within the Illinois prison system.

In re Paraquat Products Liability Litigation: Counsel for Syngenta in nationwide mass tort suits alleging exposure to herbicide caused farmers to develop Parkinson’s Disease.
Bridges v. Blackstone, Inc.: Secured complete dismissal of class action under Illinois Genetic Information Privacy Act arising out of purchase of Ancestry.com; affirmed on appeal to Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals (profiled in the National Law Journal and recognized for Litigator of the Week by the American Lawyer).
International Rail Partners, LLC v. American Rail Partners, LLC et al.: Successfully represented defendants in expedited TRO and preliminary injunction proceedings brought by minority investor seeking to enjoin the sale of two short-line railroads.
Alfieri Frank v. Alfieri: Counsel for plaintiff, trustee of a family real estate trust, in dispute alleging breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duties, and fraud related to mishandling of trust interests in $1 billion+ real estate empire.
In re Broiler Chicken Antitrust Litigation: Represented Sanderson Farms in putative antitrust class actions brought by direct and indirect poultry purchasers alleging conspiracy to reduce output and raise prices of broiler chickens. "See Why America Pays 50% More for Chicken," Bloomberg, September 22, 2016; "Chicken Prices Under Scrutiny as New Rules Set to Kick In," Wall Street Journal, November 22, 2016.
McGoveran, et al. v. Amazon Web Services, Inc., et al.: Successfully moved to dismiss class action complaint brought against Pindrop, Inc. by Illinois consumers alleging violations of the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act. Currently representing Pindrop, Inc. in same action refiled in Delaware federal court.
Opelousas General Hospital Authority v. Blue Cross Blue Shield of Louisiana: Represented potential intervenor Blue Cross Blue Shield Association in trial and appellate court in alleged class action lawsuit brought by providers challenging the Blue System’s rules under Louisiana antitrust laws.
Naturalock v. Baxter Healthcare: Represented Baxter in $300 million contract claim regarding development of catheter device. Case settled favorably one week before trial.
IBM Corp.: Provided pre-litigation advice and facilitated favorable resolutions to various disputes involving IBM outsourcing contracts.
