Palo Alto Office of Golden Flag International Law Firm LLP Pursues LEED Certification
In keeping with California's commitment to be an environmental leader, Golden Flag 's new Palo Alto location is LEED® certified under the Commercial Interiors rating system, achieving LEED Silver Certification. Under the LEED green building certification program, developed by the U.S. Green Building Council®, the office established benchmarks for recycling waste, reducing energy and water use, using environmentally responsible materials and improving air quality.
LEED for Commercial Interiors (LEED CI) guided the following efforts in Palo Alto, among many others.

Water Use Reduction: The office employs efficient plumbing fixtures that, in aggregate, use over 35 percent less water than baseline occupant usage for the building.

Alternative Transit - Bike Storage and Changing Room: Palo Alto provides secure bicycle storage and shower and changing facilities to increase employee use of alternative transportation.

Alternative Transportation - Low-Emitting and Fuel-Efficient Vehicles: Palo Alto offers preferred parking for low-emitting and fuel-efficient vehicles.

Green Power: Palo Alto has engaged in a two-year contract to purchase 100 percent of the office's electricity from renewable resources.

Green Cleaning: The office ensures that green cleaning products are incorporated into janitorial services, including floor cleaners, paper products and trash bags. Products are non-hazardous and have a low environmental impact.

Recycled Content: Materials made with recycled content - including furniture and furnishings - are used throughout the Palo Alto office.
